Artist's Comments

This is an illustration for another childrens story. It's a story about a boy who one night, while looking though his telescope discovers that there is a girl living on the moon. Night after night he looks for her and he discovers that she too is looking for him. The boy falls in love with the girl and asks the swallows to carry letters to her. The girl, in turn, sends letters on falling stars. The boy begins feeding the swallows and every kind of bird until there are finally enough to carry him safely to the moon. This piece is actually a cropping of the original painting, but I find the composition much more dynamic this way. It also has the extra bonus of hiding some mistakes make in the lower of the board. :D Gouache on Brown Toned Mat Board.

That's simply adorable... but I suppose the +fav sais it all?
Not only is the drawing detailed, but it shows the story you are telling beautifully.

Great work.

Plus I like the little tie he is wearing--and the flight of the swallows is very well done.

so very beautiful, made me speechless, , I don't think I can add anything more beside the obvious fact that it is the cutest and most heart-touching painting I've ever seen and the greatest story ever told, I hope it's going to be continued...
